After my last run-in with a password store application for the iPhone I wasn't expecting to be reviewing another one so soon, but when eWallet popped up on the App Store I couldn't resist.

Having used eWallet before during an ill advised foray into the Windows Mobile world, I had high hopes for the iPhone version.

Read on to see if Iliumsoft have done a good job of integrating their application into the iPhone user interface.

One of the first games available on the new iPhone App Store is Pool by Posimotion.

Graphically it certainly looks the part on the demo screen available in the App Store description and it's £3.49 price makes it an easy impulse buy.

So how does it hold up after install?

Dreigit - Asteroids for the iPhone

Dreigit (Irish for Meteor) is the first iPhone creation from the wonderfully named CraicDesign team (as in any Craic?).  John Kennedy's Asteroids-on-acid clone is one of the cheapest quality games we've seen yet on the iTunes apps store - amazing value at just £0.59 / $0.99.  Read on for all the details and a video...

Since the day I started using the iPhone the one application I missed more than anything was Handy Safe, the application I was using on my previous Symbian S60 smartphone to store all my passwords and private information in a secure way. With the amount of web logins I have it is impossible to remember them all and I am constantly having to get my passwords reset via email, which is a pain.

With Apple finally releasing the App Store I instantly searched for a similar application and SplashID from SplashData seems to be the only one to make the cut off date for launch release. I instantly downloaded, paying a not too pricey, but not insignificant £5.99 (or $9.99).

So, was it worth the investment? Is this the secure storage application we've all been wating for? Read on to find out...

USB Li-Ion Battery

We’ve found the iPhone battery life an improvement on our last (Windows Mobile) phone and it sometimes goes 2 days between charges if it gets light use. However a few weeks ago, on a particularly long business trip to London, the iPhone let us down and died. Admittedly this was a day that started at 5:00am, included video playback whilst waiting in the airport departure lounge, lots of voice, text and email as well as extensive use of Google maps plus having the Wi-Fi turned on all day.

The battery final gave out around 7:00pm, 2 hours short of our business meeting ending. Ok so 14 hours hard use is extreme in one day, and we really should have turned off Wi-Fi and dropped the screen brightness back had we know it was going to be such a marathon. But determined to ensure this won’t happen again, we set about investigated external batteries for the iPhone. After lots of searching we settled on the bargain USB Li-Ion Battery Pack from Portable Power Supplies. Check out the Video and the full review after the jump...

One of the Berble iPhone's got the 1.1.3 update last night, here are a few first impressions.

The update itself went smoothly, I did need to try several times before the servers could be reached but as I was trying just after the keynote announcement finished I will let them off. Updating the phone didn't result in any loss of data for me, nothing needed to be re synced to the phone afterwards.

iPhone Home Screen

First up, the customisable home screen, this feature is implemented nicely, hold your finger on any home screen icon for a few seconds and all of the icons start to jiggle. Once they are jiggling away then you can move them around to your hearts content, changing the order on the first screen but also allowing for a second (or multiple) home screens by moving the icon to the very edge of the screen.

Once everything is where you want it you press the home key to lock everything back into place, the additional home screens are then accessed with a left or right swipe.

Griffin Powerjolt

Lets face it, the iPhone was never going to be known for it's phenomenal battery life. Not that I am saying it is particularly bad but with all the toys on board, the huge bright screen and wifi the main culprits, you never leave it alone long enough to get a huge standby time.

Soon after getting the iPhone I started looking out for accessories to enable charging on the go, here at Berble we are desperately wanting a combined holder/charger and FM transmitter but nothing has been released in the UK yet.

In the meantime a power only solution will suffice and the GRIFFIN POWERJOLT seems to fit the bill nicely, with a couple of added benefits thrown in for good measure.
